Inspiration And Technique Used To Create This Equine Art
My focus and inspiration for this painting is the medium and color. I've enjoyed experimenting with watercolors the past week and with this one I wanted to have some fun with color. I started with adding some loose charcoal strokes that captured a few shapes of the jockeys and horses. I wasn't interested in a drawing of the scene but more of a hit-and-miss approach that would create a loose framework to paint. Once these sketchy lines were in place I used some browns to paint the horses and then added the jockeys. After taking a few steps back from the easel I decided to add the red and orange 'pop' to the horses on the right which really gave this painting the playfulness I envisioned.Close-Up Images So You Can Appreciate The Abstract Qualities
