Beginnings of a commissioned Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Just a quick update note... There are so many wonderful people in the drawings each day for the 12 Days of Christmas... I am going to offer a few more drawings coming soon. I will keep your names in the drawing if you were not a winner, so watch for some new pieces available for you to win.

Commissioned Painting for Collector
through Mirada Fine Art Denver
30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD

Golden Rod was a painting completed in 2012 for my opening show at Mirada Fine Art in Denver.  The painting sold the first week it was there. A collector saw images of it this fall and truly was in love with certain aspects of the painting, so I consented to paint one similar. I always worry about the spirit of a second horse painting, but after just adding the background here, I knew it was already an independent horse painting. My job will be to allow it to develop on it's own and not to look at Golden Rod any longer.

I should have started with this first verse from Luke last week... and it just caught my eye. When someone shares something with you there is aways a trust factor involved. You have friends that are deeply honest and you have friends that stretch the truth and you have friends that fabricate things, often not even knowing they are doing it. You are constantly evaluating what you take in and making decisions on what is truth and what is not.

I mentioned before that the writings of Luke are very detailed.
While John began his gospel reflecting back to IN THE BEGINNING and the creation, Luke shares his process of investigation and leaves you with a reassurance that he has carefully looked over and considered everything he is sharing with us.

"Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught. Luke 1: 1-4"
